Serabi’s employees, their welfare and working conditions are fundamental to our business.

During 2024, a total of 37,599 hours of safety training was provided to employees, an average of 44 hours per employee, (2023:16,646 hours, average of 25 hours per employee). There are both on-site activities and programmes run externally, targeted to improve the skills and knowledge of our employees in their areas of specialism.

The health and well-being of our staff is paramount. Medical facilities exist at all sites, and arrangements are in place with local clinics and hospitals for any critical illness or injury. Educational and support programme include White January, dealing with mental health, World Health Day, Blue November for prostate and other male cancer, Pink October, for breast and other female cancer awareness and the Fight against smoking.

A new canteen was established in 2023, as part of regular improvements to staff facilities, including accommodation and other leisure facilities.
